What is a Content Management System Website?
A Content Management System Website puts you in control of your website, it allows you to keep it up to date without having to know HTML/ASP programming, or by having to keep paying a web developer to do it for you.
The Content Management System (CMS) is located in a secure private part of the website which is password protected. The CMS will allow you to have complete control over your website through an easy to use admin control panel. The CMS admin control panel will allow you to:-
- Add, amend, hide or delete SECTIONS. Sections are the main areas of your website that you access through the menu system on the left hand side, i.e. Home, Sales, Contact Us, Parts, Services etc.
- Edit section content. Section content can be edited via the browser-based wordprocessor that is built into the CMS admin control panel.
- Add, amend, hide or delete COLLECTIONS. Collections are your products main grouping. For example, in the case of a car sales website, this could be "Family Cars", "Sports Cars", "Vans", "Accessories", "Parts" etc.
- Add, amend, hide or delete CATEGORIES. Collections can be broken up into categories, so in the example of the car sales website, the "Cars" collection can could be broken up into "Ford", "Vauxhall", "BMW", "Audi" etc.
- Add, amend, delete or hide ATTRIBUTES. Atributes help describe your product and is also part of the searchable criteria displayed on the search page. So for "Family Cars/Ford" the attributes could be "Engine Size", "Car Alarm", "Engine Type", "Stereo", "Electic Windows" etc.

Add, amend, hide or delete PRODUCTS. Product details consist of:-
- A small photo (mandatory - used in the quick preview menu).
- A medium photo (mandatory - used in the product details page).
- 4 large photos (normally high quality - viewed via a popup window when you click on the medium photo).
- A product code.
- A product title (name).
- A price.
- A text description.
- A list of attributes (a tick box list that is automatically generated from the attributes you have already defined).
- A "Show in Special Offers" option (a tick box to link the product into the Special Offers category).
- Add, amend, hide or delete currencies. As well as setting exchange rates for all your currencies, you can also individually set each currency's VAT rate. This allows your customers to be able to switch currencies on the website.
- View and print transaction invoices.
All changes are dynamic and are reflected in the website in realtime.
The products are fully searchable and all the attributes are listed in the search page. This will allow your customers to search your products by attributes you have defined.
The website has been fully integrated with a secure credit card processing website at http://www.protx.co.uk so as to enable you to do online credit card transactions (if you have an existing payment system already I can integrate the website with that one instead).
The website has been designed for speed and ease of use, which especially suits your customers who still do not have broadband internet access but still use the slower dial up connection.
The price for this CMS website is £250. This includes some basic branding of the demo website to give it your corporate identity. This is a one off payment received after I have completely setup your CMS website and it has been approved by you. Once the CMS website has been set up for you then you will be able to easily maintain it yourself.
Also included in the price is the submission of your new website to all major search engines.
